ABC 15 Interview 01/22/2009

Posted by

I want to thank Tim Vetscher at KNXV-TV (http://www.abc15.com) for giving me the opportunity to be part of his consumer report 'Don't let Internet cookies take a bite out of your wallet'. Here's the video feed (http://www.abc15.com/default.aspx?articleID=19017) and here's the web page (http://www.abc15.com/content/financialsurvival/consumer/story/Dont-let-Internet-cookies-take-a-bite-out-of-your/KB__huyoD0GuM2SxLBCctg.cspx). That’s what ‘Geeks in Phoenix’ is all about, helping the consumers in Phoenix.

Thanks again Tim,

Scott

First cross-blog posting

Posted by

I would like to formally welcome you to my blogs (yes, there are two). My name is Scott St. Gelais and I own Geeks in Phoenix and StGelais.com. This post is appearing in both the Community Blog at Geeks in Phoenix and the StGelais.com Guest Blog. Let me take a moment and tell you a little about both.

The Community Blog at Geeks in Phoenix

This one, as the name implies, is for the Phoenix area community. I felt a need for some place on the internet for my neighbor’s here in Phoenix to find help with their ‘Geek’ stuff. Normally, people tend to ask their relatives and friends for help. Where does someone in the Phoenix go after that? Geeks in Phoenix, of course. With the listing database of excellent professionals and the community blog, I think ‘Geeks’ is shaping into a really nice resource for the Valley of the Sun. I have another idea, but I don’t want to elaborate any further. In fact, the blog is one of the first long-term visions I had for ‘Geeks’. Please feel free to browse through our categories:

The Community http://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/category/The-Community.aspx

This category is for everyone. If it has something to do with the community, I want to post it here. If you’re having a bake sale to fund your Cub Scout troop’s field trip, I want you to post it.

I’m a Geek because… http://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/category/Im-a-Geek-because.aspx

So what makes you a ‘Geek’? Over at Geeks in Phoenix, we define a ‘Geek’ as “… one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc”. I want to hear about the three days strait you spent coding, gaming, etc. I want you to post it.

Totally ‘Geek” http://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/category/Totally-Geek.aspx

This one is for the ‘Geeks’. Tips, questions and comments, from ‘Geeks’ to ‘Geeks’

The StGelais.com Guest Blog

StGelais.com Guest Blog really started out as a replacement for the original Guest Book. The Guest Book was very popular for years. It was fun checking in and seeing who had found StGelais.com lately. I’ll admit that when people started to sign it in French, I had to find an on-line translator. But it was still fun. Then someone tried script-injecting into it, and, I ended up having to take it off-line. This new guest blog verifies e-mail addresses, IP addresses and does not post immediately. All posts have to have to be approved first before they appear.  Please feel free to browse through our categories:

This is my personal blog. When it doesn’t fit in one of the categories above, it goes here.
