I wrote an article a while back about Mailwasher Free and Mailwasher Pro, an anti-spam program I use. Recently, I received an e-mail notifying me that Mailwasher Pro 2010 was available. I went over to their site to check it out.
It was hard to imagine how Firetrust could improve on Mailwasher Pro (the version I use). First thing I noticed was the interface. It now has a 3-d look to it, similar to Microsoft Office. And with the Quick Display toggle button on the tool bar, changing the look couldn't be easier. The new feature that I really like is the grouping and sorting. Being able to have all of my e-mail accounts grouped by address is great! There is also the ability to search as you type too.
The best change comes in the way Mailwasher filters spam. They rewrote the program so that each of the spam tools is included in the identification of spam (it's based on a point system). I found writing new filters was quite easy (these were the only settings from my pervious installation had could not be migrated into the new version). Here's a quote from their site:

Mailwasher Free and Mailwasher Pro are both available for download. I personally use Mailwasher Pro and highly recommend it.
